Spending money to impress others is nothing new. However, it has been supercharged now with the overabundance of credit and the proliferation of social media.
The sad part of this is that there is no end to buying bigger / better things. No matter how big a house you have, you can always buy a bigger house. When you run out of bigger houses to buy, you can just build a bigger one or move on to buying things like islands! There is no end…
There is nothing wrong with spending money; however, we have to be mindful of where we spend our money. As they say – if you need money to impress your friends you have the wrong friends!
